The successor to the EQC, which was discontinued in spring 2023, is finally here. As one of Mercedes' bestsellers, the new GLC was eagerly awaited. However, the electric variant now comes without the EQ name, instead the SUV debuts with the somewhat unwieldy name GLC with EQ technology. We have all the pictures and information about the new mid-range electric SUV.

Mercedes GLC with EQ technology – exterior design
The new electric GLC is also to introduce a new Mercedes design language called "Sensual Clarity". One of the central elements of the new design, which is to be successively rolled out to other models, is the large chrome grille that Mercedes has now unveiled.
The new grille consists of three components: a wide chrome-plated frame, a grille structure in a smoked glass look and integrated contour lighting. There is also an optional version that is illuminated via 942 backlit dots. This can then also play animations and bring the car to life in pixel graphics. Without this option, only the frame and the star are illuminated. Together with the Mercedes stars in the front lights, the GLC with EQ technology is very recognizable. Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Mercedes-Benz, also said that the new grille redefines "the face of our brand".
Vor allem in der Seitenansicht fällt auf, dass sich Mercedes glücklicherweise von den nur auf Aerodynamik bedachten Elektromodellen verabschiedet hat. Zwar hat der neue GLC immer noch Rundungen, aber er wirkt deutlich kantiger und robuster sowie mit eigenem Charakter.
At the rear, too, the designers at GLC have dared to do more and rely on striking rear light design as a central eye-catcher. The two-part lights with star light signature make the GLC easily recognisable from the rear.
Mercedes GLC with EQ technology – battery and range
Under the bonnet, Mercedes offers modern 800-volt technology for a better charging speed, paired with a 94 kWh battery. The new Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ technology offers 360 kW (489 hp) of power as well as all-wheel drive and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Top speed is 210 km/h.
A range of up to 713 km is possible with the new GLC and a charging power of up to 330 kW ensures fast charging, so range anxiety is not necessary. Up to 303 km of range can be charged within 10 minutes. A two-speed automatic transmission and air suspension ensure efficient and comfortable travel in the new Mercedes GLC.
Wer sich für die optionale Anhängekuppelung entscheidet kann beim neuen GLC sogar 2,4 Tonnen an den Haken nehmen und ziehen. Ein Wert, der bei Elektroautos ganz weit vorne mitspielt.
Mercedes GLC mit EQ Technologie – Innenraum
Im Interieur gibt es die Option auf den 39,1-Zoll großen Hyperscreen mit dem neuesten MB.OS für eine moderne Infotainment-Erfahrung wie wir sie auch schon aus dem Mercedes CLA kennen. Dabei verschmelzen Mittelkonsole und Hyperscreen scheinbar zu einem Element. Ohne den Hyperscreen gibt es serienmäßig den MBUX Superscreen mit drei Anzeigeflächen: 10,3 Zoll digitales Kombiinstrument, 14 Zoll Infotainment-Display sowie 14-Zoll Beifahrerdisplay. In der Basis ist das Beifahrerdisplay nur zur Verzierung geeignet und zeigt individualisierbare Bilder an, erst ab der Advanced Plus Ausstattungsvariante gibt es ein funktionsfähiges Beifahrer-Display.
Zur besseren Bedienbarkeit hat Mercedes beim Lenkrad wieder eine Wippe und eine Walze eingeführt, sodass mehr haptisches Feedback bei der Bedienung an die Fahrerin oder den Fahrer abgegeben wird. Ambientelicht soll für ein Wohlgefühl ebenso das Panoramadach für eine luftige Atmosphäre. Für die Individualisierung lassen sich zahlreiche Interieur-Ausstattungen auswählen. Der neue GLC bietet sogar ein zertifiziertes veganes Interieur an, falls von Kundinnen und Kunden so gewünscht.
Der Radstand des neuen GLC ist acht Zentimeter größer als beim Vorgänger, sodass sowohl vorne als auch hinten die Insassen von mehr Bein- und Kopffreiheit profitieren können. Für das Gepäck gibt es einen 570 Liter großen Kofferraum, der sich auf 1.740 Liter erweitern lässt. Vorne im Frunk ist nochmals Platz für 128 Liter, sodass es mehr als genug Platz für Reisen im GLC mit EQ Technologie gibt.
The infotainment in the new GLC is the fourth-generation MBUX and uses the Unity Engine for its presentation. In addition to good customisability of the infotainment, the MBUX system also scores with the integration of artificial intelligence. Both Microsoft and Google are working together with Mercedes-Benz here and significantly improving the voice assistant. He can now hold conversations and understand contexts. In the presentation, the assistant is now also graphically depicted as a stylized Mercedes star, which is intended to make operation even more intuitive.
Mercedes-Benz also uses the latest technology in terms of safety and offers up to ten exterior cameras, five radar sensors, twelve ultrasonic sensors and a high-performance computer in the GLC. As a result, it offers the latest safety assistants, including parking assistants with automatic parking processes.
Mercedes GLC with EQ technology – price and market launch
The all-electric GLC is expected to be available at dealerships from spring 2026 and will cost just under €70,000. Mercedes-Benz has not yet given exact details on the date or price. At launch, there is only one variant to choose from, and that is the Mercedes GLC 400 4MATIC with EQ technology.
